Chamber keeping small businesses, customers connected

While face-to-face interaction with customers has stalled for many local businesses, the Gilmer Chamber is working to keep business owners and customers connected during the ongoing health crisis.
Hunter Grindley practiced social distancing turkey hunting. His first ever turkey weighed 26 pounds had three beards and sported 1.6 inch spurs. Two days after brother Hunter killed a record book turkey, McKenzie Grindley decided she wanted to do the same. She shot a shotgun for the first time that evening and the next morning she lowered the boom on this trophy turkey.

National Guard visits Parkside Ellijay

Members of the National Guard visited Parkside Ellijay Skilled Nursing Care facility Tuesday, April 7, to assist and train staff in cleaning and disinfecting techniques recommended by the CDC. The National Guard has provided these services to numerous nursing care centers across the state.
