William ‘Sammy’ Allen Craig

William “Sammy” Allen Craig, 55, of Ellijay, died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2021.

He was born Dec. 26, 1965, in Ellijay, to the late Lewis I. and Grace Rice Craig. He was a member of the Happy Valley Church in Ellijay.

He is preceded in death by brother, Ruel Craig; and sisters, Verdie Craig and Christine Worley.

He is survived by wife, Monica Barnes Craig; daughter, Jessica Craig, of Blue Ridge; sons, Emory Craig and John Craig, both of Ellijay; grandchild, Sierra Craig, of Blue Ridge; brothers, Freddie Craig, of Chatsworth and Willie Craig, of Ellijay; sisters, Betty Craig Collins, of Chatsworth, Kathrine Sexton, Louise Young, Ruby Stover, Ruth Barrera and Lillie Cantrell, all of Ellijay, and Betty Collins, of Chatsworth.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, 2021, at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Cantrell and graveside Pastor Craig Marlow officiating.

Interment was in the Craigtown Cemetery.
