John Henry Oldfield

Mr. John Henry Oldfield, of Ellijay, died Friday, Dec. 23, 2022. He was born July 26, 1940, in Phoenixville, Pa. He was a proud graduate of Rider College and Steinert High School. Upon graduation, he served in the United States Navy.

He was a Freemason for over 50 years and was a lifelong fan of cars, especially antique corvettes and enjoyed going to the racetrack or relaxing at home watching NASCAR while enjoying a cigar. He also enjoyed working on cars, driving the back roads, puttering around the house and yard and loved the outdoors. John always had a smile for everyone and will be very missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by parents, Harry L. Oldfield and Anna M. Oldfield.

He is survived by brother, Robert Oldfield; sister, Nancy Danch; daughter, Dawn and husband, Michael; sons Aaron and wife, Aimee; Mark and wife, Stacy; grandchildren; Taylor, Alexis, Austin, Alyssa and Ava; two nieces; and one nephew.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
