William Kenneth ‘Billy’ Garland

Mr. William Kenneth “Billy” Garland, 67, of Ellijay, died Thursday, April 30, 2020.

He was born Jan. 14, 1953, in Gilmer County, to Kenneth and Willa Nell Henson Garland. 

He was a graduate of Gilmer High School, class of 1971, a poultry farmer and member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by wife, Rosa Lee Sanford Garland.

He is survived by children and spouses, Stacie and Timothy Griggs, Darren and Cheryl Braswell, all of Ellijay; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Gary Spivey, of Ellijay; grandchildren, Sarah Watkins and Evan, Hannah Grace Griggs; great-granddaughter, Zella Rose Watkins; and several nieces and nephews.

A private visitation and funeral service was held with the Rev. John Reece officiating.  

Music was by Teresa Chastain. 

Pallbearers were Timothy Griggs, Evan Watkins, Darren Braswell, Gary Spivey and Jody Griggs. 

Burial will be in Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery.
