Velvie ‘June’ Sparks Bagwell

Mrs. Velvie “June” Sparks Bagwell, 60, of Ellijay, died Monday, Sept. 19, 2022.

She was born Feb. 23, 1962, in Monroe, to the late Duffy Virgil and Barbara June Jenkins Sparks.

She graduated from Forsyth Central High School in 1980 and was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church in Ellijay.

She is preceded in death by infant son, Brandon Cole Bagwell; father and mother-in-law, Raymond and Fannie Mae Bagwell; brothers, Delton Sparks and David Sparks; brother-in-law, Stacy Bagwell; niece, Crystal Sparks; and nephew, Virgil Sparks.

She is survived by husband of 39 years, Stanley Bagwell; children, Vivian and Jeremy Daniel, of Canton, Matthew Bagwell, of Ellijay; grandchildren, Emilee Daniel, Nicholas Daniel; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, 2022, at Flat Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Daniel Sparks and the Rev. Steve Kilborn officiating.

Pallbearers were Daniel Cartin, Terry Williams, Bron Nichols, Johnathan Crump, Andrew Giles, CJ Ellington, Billy Roper and Steven Sheets.

Honorary pallbearers were Nicholas Daniel, Colten Coley and Jaden Love.
