Mrs. Rosa Lee Abercrombie Burgess, 88, went to be with the Lord Sunday, Jan. 1, 2023.

She was born April 24, 1934, to the late Richard Martin and Lorena May (Smith) Abercrombie.

She was a member of Pleasant Gap Baptist Church. For over 60 years, she was honored to serve many church families with her dear husband, the Rev. Emmett Burgess.

One of her greatest joys in life was singing gospel music. Her other love was her daughters, grandbabies, great-grands and extended family.

She was a successful business co-owner of The Fashion Vine in Chatsworth for 32 years.  Her other passion was gardening.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, the Rev. Emmett Burgess; brothers Roy Abercrombie, Clyde Abercrombie, Hoyt Abercrombie, Otis Abercrombie, Herman Abercrombie and Leonard Abercrombie.

She is survived by daughters, Sharon (Michael) Bramlett, of Ellijay and Carol (Danny) Hensley, of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; grandchildren, Candi Davis, Jocelyn Vanell, Michael Bramlett II, Lauren Maloney and Justin Hensley; great-grandchildren, Zane, Jack, Chase, Luke, Riley, Maylee, Myla and Colin; sisters, Elsie Kowitz, of Ellijay and Madeline Hood, of Ellijay; brother, James (Teresa) Abercrombie, of Adairsville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl Abernathy and the Rev. Crafton Dover officiating.

Interment was in the Pleasant Gap Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Michael Bramlett, Mikey Bramlett, Danny Hensley, Justin Hensley, Colin Maloney, Brad Davis, Zane Davis, Jack Davis, Matt Vanell, Chase Vanell and Luke Vanell.
