Mr. Ronald George McClure, 60, of Ellijay, died Sunday, April 11, 2021.
He was born July 31, 1960, to Donald Marlin McClure and Dora Lorene Davenport McClure, in Ellijay. He enjoyed handcrafting knives, looking for Native American artifacts, auto mechanics and before his illness, operating heavy equipment for his employer, Reece Logging Company, of Jasper. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Joshua Lawrence (Emily) McClure, of Ellijay; grandchildren, Brayden McClure and Bayleigh McClure, of Ellijay; mother, Lorene Davenport Nelson, of Ellijay; father, Donald (Elaine) McClure, of Ellijay; sisters and brothers-in-law, Rita (Johnny) Fowler, of Dalton, Peggy Sue McClure, of Ooltewah, Tenn., Diana (Ruben) Rodriguez, of Ellijay, Bonnie (Gene) Patterson, of Rydal, Jessica McClure, Carolyn (Arvilee) Pankey, all of Ellijay; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tony (Carla) Nelson, Ronnie (Sandra) McClure, all of Ellijay, Donnie (Rhonda) McClure, of Pagosa Springs, Colo., Timothy (Tia) McClure, of Bloomfield, N.M., Anthony (Cindy) McClure, of Ellijay, Donald (Jeanine) McClure Jr., of Monroe; special aunts, Annette Wilson, Sue Davis and Patsy Davenport; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is preceded in death by stepfather, Bobby Nelson; and grandparents, Hoke and Bertie Burgess, Pat Davenport and George and Bonnie McClure.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 15, 2021, at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Glen Arnold and the Rev. Pat Shelton officiating.
Interment was in the Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Donald McClure Jr., Anthony McClure, Timothy McClure, Ronnie McClure, Donnie McClure, Justin Hurd, Joseph Seabolt and Levi Seabolt.
