Mr. Robert W. “Bob” Smith Jr., 68, of Ellijay, died Friday, April 24, 2020.

He was born Dec. 16, 1951, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Rev. Robert W. Smith Sr. and Dorothy Creasman Smith. 

He retired from Royal Adhesives, where he worked as a chemist and technical director and was a faithful member of Covenant Community Church. 

He enjoyed growing roses, was an amateur astronomer, and devoted his life to a ministry of helping anyone with any need. He was a loving, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He is survived by wife, Linda Smith; children and spouses, Jonathan and Heather Smith, of Cleveland, Tenn., Rebecca Smith, of Ellijay, David Smith, of Australia, and Joel and Leah Smith, of Ellijay; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Ruthie and Mickey Moskovitz, of Ellijay; niece, Amy Moskovitz; and nephew, David and Malory Moskovitz.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 27, 2020, from the Cartecay United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Fields officiating.  Music was by Eric Colson, Jonathan Smith, Joel Smith and Rebecca Smith.

Pallbearers were Ricky Boring, Rick Keys, Scott Cantrell, Joseph Cantrell, Nick Smith and Dillion Terry.
