The Rev. James Lonnie Wright, 69, of Ellijay, died Thursday, July 29, 2021, at his residence.
He was born in Gilmer County July 22, 1952, to the late James Wright and Cleo Moss Wright.
He was self-employed in the construction business and had pastored several churches in Gilmer, Fannin, Union and Gordon counties and was of the Baptist faith.
He is preceded in death by sisters, Betty Shoemaker and Mildred Ballew.
He is survived by wife, Gail Hughes Wright; son, Jamie Wright (Ashley); daughter, Amanda Lomonaco (Blake); brother, Johnny Wright (Linda); sisters, Louise Underwood, Patsy Shoemaker (Johnny), and Kathy Shoemaker (Bobby); and grandchildren, Madison and Quinn Lomonaco and Brenden and Breyden Wright.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 2, 2021, at Sunlight Baptist Church with the Rev. Trammell Rhodes and the Rev. Wallace Parks officiating.
Interment was in the church cemetery.
Music was by the New Antioch Baptist Church Choir.
Pallbearers were Blake Lomonaco, Leaman Hughes, Ronnie Colwell, Kevin Wright, Tony Hancock and Alex Hughes.
Honorary pallbearers were Shane Duggan, Chris Colwell, Ronald Colwell, Chandler Harrington, Ernest Buckner, Edward Herndon, Brenden Wright, Jamie Wright, Tony Keener and Isaac Colwell.
