Rebecca Bailey Lee, 67, of Ellijay, died Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020. She was born Feb. 18, 1953, to the late Wallace and Eloise Smith Bailey, of Summertown. 

She was a member of Summertown Baptist Church and the 1971 graduating class of Swainsboro High School.  She graduated from Georgia Southern College with the following degrees: B.S., M.Ed., education specialist. She was an active member of the Georgia Southern Theater Group. She followed in her mother’s footsteps and became an elementary teacher, and taught in Summertown, Louisville, Valdosta, Florida and Swainsboro.  

She was an extremely talented vocalist, pianist and organist.  She was involved with the Miss Georgia Pageant for a number of years and enjoyed several hobbies: ceramics, beading, porcelain and painting.  She was a beautiful, loving, free spirit that touched everyone and excelled in everything she ever attempted.  Her greatest joys in life were her art works and being “Yaya” to her three grandchildren. 

She is preceded in death by six first cousins. 

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Noah and Allison Hutchison, of Windsor, Colo., and their children, Grace, Harper and Eli; and six first cousins and extended family members.

The family would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and prayers.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021, at Brinson Cemetery in Canoochee.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests letters of stories to be written to Noah, Allison, Grace, Harper and Eli and sent to P.O. Box  2515, Ellijay, GA 30540.
