Priscilla Sue Jollay Smith, 72, passed away at her home surrounded by family Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019.

She was born Jan. 18, 1947, in Chattanooga, Tenn., to the late Charles and Mary Louise Jollay.

She graduated from Chattanooga City High School in 1965 and married the love of her life, Jim, on Christmas Eve, 1965.

She truly had a servant’s heart. Her desire to serve led her to nursing school in 1990. She retired as ER Director of North Georgia Medical Center in 2009, then went on to serve patients and their families through Georgia Mountains Hospice until 2014.

She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, and an active member of the church’s quilting guild.

She is survived by husband of 54 years, James M. Smith Jr.; children, Melissa (Michael) Garland and James M. (Bethany) Smith III; and grandchildren, Joshua Garland, Emma Garland, James Smith and Chloe Smith.

Please join us in celebrating Priscilla’s life Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019, at Hope Lutheran Church, 3295 Old Highway 5 South, Ellijay.

The family will receive friends from 2:30-3:30 p.m. The service will be at 3:30 p.m. with a reception immediately following.
