Ms. Shirley Marie Hensley, 65, of Ellijay, died Saturday, July 17, 2021, at her residence.
She was born in Tate, February 19, 1956, to the late Sherman Hensley and Ethel Newton Hensley. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by brother, Donald Hensley.
Ms. Hensley was retired from Gold Kist and was a member of Berean Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, watching birds, sitting on the porch and playing Candy Crush.
Survivors include daughter, Misty Williams (Mike); mother, Ethel Hensley; stepfather, Phillip Henderson; two brothers, Gary and Michael Hensley; 1 granddaughter, Sanoah Hensley; special friend, Helen Nelson; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at 4 p.m. from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with the Rev. Anthony Stonecipher officiating. Interment was in Berean Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family received friends Monday, July 19 from 1 until 9 p.m., and Tuesday, July 20, from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to help with funeral expenses.
Bernhardt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
