Mrs. Willa Dean Petty, 84, of Ellijay, died Monday, Oct. 12, 2020.
She was born Jan. 22, 1936, in Gordon County, to the late Woodrow and Cora Hughes Stover. She was a graduate of Sanford High School in Florida, a homemaker and member of the Faith Chapel Church of God of Prophecy.
She is survived by husband, Dennis Petty; son, David Petty, of Ellijay; daughters, Dana Southern and Angela Petty, both of Ellijay; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Virgil Stover, of Trion, Edison Stover, of Kansas, Sam Stover, of Arkansas, Edward Stover, of Kansas; sisters, Joy Hoff, of Minot, N.D., Allie Fitzgibbons, of Jasper, Wanda McArthur, of Ringgold; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, 2020, from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Pastor Dottie Williams officiating.
Music was by Angela Petty, Dottie Williams and the congregation.
