Mrs. Shirley Amildia Dunn Dotson

Mrs. Shirley Amildia Dunn Dotson, 82, of Ellijay, died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2019, at her home. 

She was born Feb. 26, 1937, to the late Joseph Homer Dunn and Shadia Ann Orr Dunn, in Ellijay. She was a member of Northcutt Baptist Church and a retiree of the Superb Carpet Mill. 

She is preceded in death by sisters, Goldie Edison, Winnie Woody, Lois Davis and Rebecca Carter; brothers, Morris Dunn, Clifford Dunn, Johnnie Dunn and Farish Dunn.

She is survived by husband of 64 years, Thomas R. “Junior” Dotson; daughter, Gail F. Dotson and Stefan Payne, of Ellijay; son, Phillip R. Dotson; and special friend, Cindy Sanford, of Ellijay; granddaughter, Ashley and spouse, Jamie Wright; great-grandchildren, Breyden Wright and Brenden Wright; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, 2019, from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Dotson and the Rev. Glen Arnold officiating. 

Music was by Dwight Sanford, Lowell Davis and Danny McArthur. 

Interment followed in the Pleasant Gap Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Edward Dotson, Greg Dotson, Homer Davis, Kenny Fendley, Roger Fendley and Jim Dotson.
