Mrs. Renee Sluder Rogers, 56, of Ellijay, died Friday, Nov. 8, 2019.

She was born March 23, 1963, in Gilmer County. She attended Gilmer High School, was a housewife and member of Ellijay Church of Christ.

She had such a bright personality. She could light up any room. She loved sweets, her animals and listening to Elvis and George Strait. 

Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her closest friends and family, especially her loving husband, children and grandbabies. She was loved by all who met her and will continue to touch our lives forever.

She is survived by loving husband, Jimmy; daughter, Stephanie (Scott)  Cook, of Ellijay; son, Bobby (Delana) Ballew, of Cherry Log; daughter, Kimberley (Gene) McClure, of Canton; father, Wayne Sluder; stepmother, Shirley Sluder, of Ellijay; mother, Pearlie Mae Weeks Sluder, of Ellijay; six grandsons, Walker Ballew, Braxton Ballew, Beaux Ballew, Gavin Cook, Garrett Cook and Grayson Cook; brother, Wayne Sluder Jr.; sisters, Abby Chancey, of Ellijay, Shelia Cochran, of Blue Ridge; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, 2019, from Salem Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Richards officiating and the eulogy given by Kerry Sweat. 

Music was by Gerald Chancey. 

Pallbearers were Chris Cochran, Josh Chancey, Dallas Satterfield, Scott Cook, Gene McClure, Chuck Vautrot,  Walker Ballew and Gavin Cook. 

Honorary pallbearers were  Alan Sisson, Larry Davis, Bobby Thomas, Gene Cochran and Gerald Chancey.

Interment was in the church cemetery.

Bernhardt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
