Mrs. Melba Milton Gibson

Mrs. Melba Milton Gibson, 93, of Ellijay, died Friday, Oct 2, 2020.

She was born March 1, 1927, in Gilmer County, to the late Newman and Annie Brown Milton. 

She was a graduate of Ellijay High School, retired from the state of Georgia as a case specialist for the Department of Family and Children’s Service and a member of Calvary Way Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by husband of 71 1/2 years, Grady Gibson; siblings, Med Milton, Raymond Milton and Paul Milton, Montine Langley and Barbara Reece.

She is survived by children and spouses, Charles and Marlene Gibson, of Ellijay, Connie and Larry Bledsoe, of Dalton; grandchildren, Kara and Duane Richardson, Jeff and Melissa Patterson, Jennifer and Michael Swinford; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held Sunday, Oct. 4, 2020, for family and close relatives with the Rev. Emuel Sanford officiating.

Interment was in Calvary Way Baptist Church Cemetery.

Donations can be made to Calvary Way Baptist Church, in memory of Mrs. Gibson.

The family especially thanks Sonshine Manor and Heartlite Hospice for their excellent care.
