Mrs. Gladys Davis Adams, 90, of Marietta, died Friday, April 24, 2020.

She was a native and longtime resident of Ellijay. She worked with the Gilmer Extension Service for a number of years and also worked as a floral designer at Ellijay Florist part-time. 

After relocating to Rome, she worked with the State Soil & Water Conservation Department until her retirement at age 63.

She enjoyed being an active member the Ellijay Chapter of the Eastern Star. Her passion for gardening and building projects around her home kept her busy. Also her elaborate Christmas lighting decorations were admired by all.  

She is preceded in death by husbands Otis Abercrombie and Roger Adams.

She is survived by daughter, Linda Abercrombie Haygood and husband Randy, of Powder Springs; brother-in-law, Rich A. Eller, of Marietta; stepchildren, Royce Adams, Tami Thornton, Randy Adams, Ray Adams, and their families; and nephew, Tony Davis and family, of Ellijay.

A family visitation was held Friday May 1, 2020, followed by a graveside service at 2 p.m. in Yukon Cemetery with the Rev. Brondy Davis officiating. 

Donations can be made to the Humane Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in memory Mrs. Adams.
