Mrs. Evelyn Virginia Bennett Blomeley

Mrs. Evelyn Virginia (Bennett) Blomeley, 95, of Ellijay, died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2020. 

She was born July 25, 1925, to the late Harry Nichols and Myrtle Bernice (Stumme) Bennett in Southampton, N.Y. She was of the Methodist faith, and a Christian. She graduated in 1944 from Southampton High School and received her nursing degree in 1947 from Southampton Hospital. 

She was an adoring mother to her children and loved by so many. 

She is preceded in death by husband, William S. Blomeley Jr.; and brother, Harry C. Bennett. 

She is survived by daughters, Sherry Lynn Blomeley, of Ellijay and Susan Bernice and Douglas Croyle, of Newport, Wash; sons, William Stanley Blomeley III, of Gainesville, Fla., Lewis and Linda Blomeley, of Maryanna, Fla., Bill (William R.) and Terry Blomeley, of Ellijay and David C. and Wilma Blomeley, of Woodbine; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-great grandchildren and two great-great-great grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 6, 2020, at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with David Blomeley speaking. 

Interment followed in the Cartecay United Methodist Church Cemetery.
