Mrs. Dorothy Lillian Ray “Momma Bryan” Bryan, 100, of Ellijay, died Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at her residence.
She was born in Gilmer County April 21, 1921, to the late J.V. “Bud” Ray and Ora Ray.
She is preceded in death by husband, Marshall W. Bryan; son, Johnny D. Bryan; grandson, Bobby Southern; great-grandson, Billy Parker; and brother, Fred Ray.
She is survived by sons, Roy Bryan, Marshall “Joe” Bryan, Ricky (Arlene) Bryan; daughters, Maxine Southern and Marcell Teal; sister, Orene Underhill; grandchildren, Trina (John) Penland, Tracy (Steve) Wells, Ann Bryan, Nancy Southern, Neal (Sandy) Southern, Cindy (Clay) Cartwright, Jenny Parker, Lonnie Teal, Samantha (Jacob) Callihan, David (Amanda) Bryan, Heather (Cody) Deweese, Amber (Myles) Mulkey, Amy (Nolan) Roberson; 25 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 24, 2021, from Liberty Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Banks and the Rev. David Nicholson officiating.
Interment was in the church cemetery.
Grandsons and great-grandsons served as pallbearers.
