Mrs. Betty Jean Burgess Sanford, 86, of Ellijay, died Monday, July 26, 2021.
She was born Aug. 23, 1934, to the late John Harvey and Myrtle Louise Starks Burgess, in Ellijay.
She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by husband, Bob Robert C. Sanford; and son, Michael Sanford.
A graveside service was held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 30, 2021, at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with Robert Buchanan speaking.
She is survived by sisters, Johnny Ann and James Gaskill, of Thomson, Kathy Burgess and the Rev. Jerry Banks, of East Ellijay; and several nieces and nephews.
