Mrs. Betty Hamrick

Mrs. Betty Hamrick, 74, of Chatsworth, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 2021.

She was born in Gilmer County March 27, 1947, to the late Elbert Johnson and Lillie Pritchett.

Prior to retirement, she was employed by Queen Carpet, and was a member of Flat Branch Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by son, James Plumley; brothers, Reed Johnson and EJ Pritchett; and sisters, Charlene Buckner and Evelyne Sisson.

She is survived by husband, Wallace Lackey, of Chatsworth; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Melissa Plumley, of Faber, Va.; daughters and sons-in-law, Elisa and Freddie Baggett, of Crandall, and Melissa and Kevin Shelton, of Dunlap, Tenn.; brothers, Ruel Johnson, R. Dale Johnson, Earl Johnson, Don Johnson, David Johnson, and Farrell Pritchett; sister, Brenda Studdard, of Chatsworth; grandchildren, Courtney Patterson, Peyton Shelton, Johnathan Baggett, Daniel Baggett, Ryan Baggett, Autumn Plumley, and T.J. Plumley; eight great-grandchildren; and  several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hamrick were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021, from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with the Rev. Kevin Shelton officiating.

Interment was in the Yukon Cemetery.

Bernhardt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
