Mrs. Annie Ruth Harper Landers

Mrs. Annie Ruth Harper Landers, 87, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2021, in Keller, Texas.

She was a longtime resident of Ridgefield, Conn., and spent many of her later years living near family in Tarrant County, Texas.

Born on July 21, 1933, she grew up in Ellijay, and graduated from Gilmer High School in 1950. Afterward, she worked for the Federal Reserve Bank in Atlanta.  

She raised three sons and was active in the many communities they lived in, including Cobb County, Ashboro, Raleigh, N.C., Statesville, N.C., and Shreve, Ohio. She fell in love with the last town her family moved to, Ridgefield, Conn. She was a Cub Scout leader, a member of the many booster clubs supporting her sons’ sports teams and an active member of Jesse Lee Methodist Church.

She was known for her keen eye for fashion and classic styling. Always “dressed to the nines,” she loved meeting new people and easily interacted with everyone who crossed her path. She loved interior decorating, traveling, skiing, tennis, golf, reading and cooking.

She is preceded in death by parents Floyd and Hazel Harper.

She is survived by  brother, Jack Harper and wife, Geri of Ellijay; sister, Judy Farist and husband, Vinson, of Buchanen, Tenn.; sons, Don Jr., of Bessemer, Ala., Dave and wife, Barbara, of Whitingham, Vt., and Bob and wife, BJ, of Southlake, Texas; grandchildren, Michael Landers, Emily Landers, Chris Landers, Elizabeth Nelson, Kirby Landers, Lara Jean Dobson, Sean Landers, Elise Landers and Matthew Landers; and great-grandchildren, Olivia, Jacob, Jack, Brynn, Finn and Kessler. 

A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 8, 2021, at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
