Mrs. Ann Fields

Mrs. Ann Fields, 84, of Ellijay, died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2021.

She was the daughter of the late Dewey Culver Garner and Lois Givens Garner.

She was a retired secretary for the principal of the Bible Baptist Church and Day School in Savannah, and also taught Sunday school there for many years.

She continued her service for the Lord, teaching Sunday school at Grace Baptist Church, where she was also a faithful member.

She graduated from Commercial High School, Savannah, class of 1954, magna cum laude.

She enjoyed spending time with her wonderful friends, and was a loving mother and grandmother.

She is proceeded in death by late husbands, Clarence Smith, Novis Fields; and brother-in-law, John Porter.

She is survived by Chris and Elaine Smith, of Pooler, Kathy and the Rev. Marty Wynn, of Columbus, Kim and George Ralston, of Ellijay, Kenneth and Lynn Fields, of Shellmans Bluff, Duncan Fields, of Shreveport, La., Gari Fields, of Tifton; sister, Mildred Porter, of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandchildren, Stephanie and Daniel Slavy, Stephen and Karissa Wynn, Andy Smith and Garrett and Noah Ralston; and great-grandchildren, Peter, Titus, Tabitha, Phebe, Abigail, Sylas and Anna-Kay.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 5, 2021, from Grace Baptist Church with the Rev. Marty Wynn and the Rev. Luke Logan officiating.

Interment will be in the Hillcrest Abbey East Memorial Park in Savannah, Thursday, Sept. 9, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Herb Hubbard officiating.
