Morris Edward Reece

Mr. Morris Edward Reece, 81, of Talking Rock, died Saturday, May 15, 2021, at his residence with loved ones by his side. He was born July 23, 1939, in Gilmer County, to the late Horace and Agnes McJunkins Reece. He enjoyed hunting, being outdoors, and spending time with his family. He worked as a welder for many years and was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church. 

He preceded in death by brother-in-law, Jimmy Lowe; and grandson, Kyle Reece.

He is survived by wife of 33 years, Sue Reece; sons, Keith and Pam Reece, Ellijay, Mike Reece, of Jasper; daughter, Nikki and Joe Towery, of Ellijay; daughters, Cindy and Scott Kirk, of Talking Rock, Kim and Paul Spradlin, of Lizella, Elaine and Hector Espinoza, of Jasper; brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy and Betty Reece, of Hinton, the Rev. Larry and Ann Reece, of Whitestone; sisters and brothers-in-law, Alice Lowe, of Jasper, Sandy and Billy Bernhardt, of Ellijay, Vickie and Michael White, of Jasper, and Becky and Gary Fountain, of Jasper; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2021, from the chapel of Bernhardt funeral home with the Rev. Keith Allison officiating. 

Interment was in the Yukon Cemetery. 

Pallbearers were Jason Bernhardt, Ricky Reece, Adam Lowe, Matt Fountain, Adam Lowe, David Parks and William Reece. 

Music was by the Mountain View Baptist Church women’s choir.

Bernhardt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
