In loving memory
Mr. Michael Louis Capanelli, 50, of Ellijay, died Sunday, Sept. 12, 2021.
He was born in Flushing, N.Y., March 25, 1971, to Diane Capanelli.
He was an accomplished musician and was employed by the Blue Ridge Arts Center in the Music Education Department.
He loved sword fighting, cooking, mountain biking and singing.
He is survived by wife, Cheryl Capanelli; sons, Aaron Capanelli and Christian Capanelli; daughters, Jessica Mathis, Melissa Capanelli and Miranda Greenberg; mother, Diane Capanelli; and grandchildren, Tyler, Anabeth, Joey, Mason and Everett.
A memorial service was held at 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 20, 2021, in the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with the Rev. Glen Arnold officiating.
Donations can be made to the Michael L. Capanelli Scholarship, to be continually funded to educate a local child every year in Michael’s name.
