Louella “Lucy” Brookshire Payne, 89, of Marietta, died Sunday, March 21, 2021.
She was born May 2, 1931, to the late Luther Ervin and Vina Odell Stamey Brookshire, in Ellijay.
She worked for Bell South Telecommunications for 40 years. She enjoyed traveling with her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by sisters, Rubye B. Boatright, Cora Lee (Polly) Adams; brothers, Rosco Brookshire, Roy Brookshire and James Brookshire.
She is survived by husband of 56 years, Houston Payne, of Marietta; daughter and son-in-law, Tracie and Brett Lawler, of Woodstock; granddaughters, Taylor Nichols and Carlee Nichols; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 27, 2021, at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Butch Jones officiating.
Interment was in the Oak Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Keith Adams, Jeff Brookshire, Winfred Moss, Michael Boatright, Chris Sciabica and Seth Moss.
