Larry Danny Hill

Recently, we lost an incredible man! Larry Danny Hill expired April 3.

A Gilmer County native, he retired here some five years ago. He lived his life well.

He was a poet, song writer, musician, scholar, builder, producer, apothecary, having one of the first dispensaries in Longmont, Colo. He was a flight engineer in the U.S. Air Force, directing the operation of C-130s and C-140s.

Those that knew him, knew him through his goodness, NORML (National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws) and those who fostered the miraculous herb cannabis. He was known as the “Grandfather” of medical marijuana. He was a member of the few that could provide Phoenix Tears, a CBD oil that cured almost any illness including cancer.

Larry attended all five Georgia State exploratory meetings to consider the legalization of medical marijuana, a large factor in the legalization of medical cannabis. A true hero. His spirit is still among us.

A celebration of his life will be held Nov. 2, 2019. Call 706-698-7007 to learn location and time.
