Kevin Patrick Faris Sr.

Mr. Kevin Patrick Faris Sr., 64, of Ellijay, passed away after a courageous battle with stage 4 lung cancer.

He was born at Harpal’s Maternity Home May 31, 1955, in Coupeville, Wash., to Emerson and Kathleen Clark Faris. He graduated from Coupeville High School in 1973 and attended Kent State University. He served 28 years in the United States Navy and retired in 2000 as Chief Petty Officer. He then completed 10 years in civil service retiring as a GS-12 for a second time in 2012. He settled in Ellijay.

Along the way, he made many friends and touched the lives of all he met. He will be remembered for his selflessness and love of family.

He is survived by the love of his life, Elizabeth Irene Tiegen; sons, Kevin P. Faris Jr., of Mukilteo, Wash., and Justin Faris currently deployed in the Navy; daughters, Haily Clemens, of Snohomish and Asheley Faris, of Athens; stepdaughter, Kayleigh Dean; stepsons, Peter Weiss and Patrick Weiss; sister, Kathleen Faye Faris Diemert, of Anacortes; brothers, Jim E. Faris, of Grandville, Texas, Foster Faris and Emerson Faris, of Anacortes; aunt, Dorothy Keefe, of Coupeville; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
