Johnny E. Tanner

Mr. Johnny E. Tanner, 73, of Talking Rock, died Monday, Sept. 14, 2020.

He was born June 23, 1947, in Murphy, N.C., to the late William Pence Tanner and Evelyn Young Tanner. He worked for Pickens County and was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by sons, Mark Tanner, Jonathan Tanner; daughter, Tammy Tanner; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Omie Mashburn, of Jasper, Eva Wilkins, of Culberson, N.C.; brothers, Jack Tanner, of North Carolina; brother and caregivers, Carr and Linda Tanner and Marcia Tilson.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, 2020, from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Caylor and the Rev. Chris Pack officiating.

Music was by Rex Kilpatrick. 

Pallbearers were David Tanner, Steve Tanner, Ronald Wilkins, Dan Wilkins, Jason Tanner and Danny Wilkins.  

Interment was in the Yukon Cemetery.
