James ‘Randy’ Hawkins

Mr. James “Randy” Hawkins, 58, of Ellijay, died Tuesday, March 1, 2022, peacefully at home surrounded by his family and loved ones.

He was born Oct. 26, 1963, in Gainesville and  worked for Coca-Cola Bottling Company as a forklift driver. He was a member of Chestatee Baptist Church in Gainesville.

He is survived by wife of 35 years, Lequida (Waldrip) Hawkins, of Ellijay; father and mother-in-law, Winfred and Betty Waldrip; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Sheila Waldrip, Clint and Nakieta Waldrip, of Ellijay, Teresa Belcher, of Madison; nieces, Denisha Waldrip, Brittany Waldrip, Rebecca McCants; nephew, Wesley Belcher; seven great-nieces and nephews; special caregivers, Carol West; Mechelle Thumma; and his Kitty-Cookie.

A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2022, at the Chestatee Baptist Church Cemetery in Gainesville, with the Rev. Winfred Skinner officiating.
