James ‘Price’ McClure

Mr. James “Price” McClure, 85, of Ellijay, died Wednesday, April 28, 2021.

He was born in Gilmer County to the late Ruben McClure and Nilla Thompson McClure. He drove a dump truck for the Gilmer County Road Department and loved to coon hunt.

He is preceded in death by wife, Jackie McClure; grandsons, Robbie Keener and Tylar Dotson; siblings, Vercil McClure Parker, Viola McClure Walker, Efford McClure, Ardell McClure, Homer McClure, Lona McClure Garland, Zennia McClure McDougal and Harold McClure. 

He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and James Smith, of Chatsworth, Lynn and Johnny Grizzle, Cindy and J.C. Pankey, Teena and Carl Holt, Cindy and Rickey Dotson and Rhonda and Lance Teasley, all of Ellijay; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Cindy Mulkey, of Ellijay; brother, Harvey McClure, of Ellijay; 19 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2021, from the Riverhill Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Cantrell, the Rev. Paul Richards, the Rev. Daniel Hyatt and Johnny Grizzle officiating. 

Pallbearers were Zachary McClure, Jimmy Holt, Ronnie Chadwick, Eric Bramlett, Dylan Bramlett and Michael Mulkey.

Bernhardt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
