Mr. James Curtis Amerman, 83, of Ellijay, died Saturday, June 19, 2021.
He was born July 4, 1937, in Glen Ridge, N.J., to the late Franklin Felty and Vivian Marie (Curtis) Amerman. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Zephyrhills, Fla.
He served honorably in the U.S. Army for over 20 years and worked for the Florida Department of Corrections.
He is survived by wife of 57 years, Minnie Amerman; brother, Arnold “Butch” Smith, of Tampa, Fla.; daughter, Susan Elizabeth Amerman, of Clearwater, Fla.; sons and daughters-in-law, James G. and Margaret Amerman, of Columbus, John and Debra Amerman, of Wesley Chapel, Fla., Edwin and Wendy Amerman, of Ellijay; grandchildren, Magdeline Mahairass, James C. Amerman, Steven R. Amerman, Kaitlyn N. Amerman, Stephanie Amerman, Kayci Baumann, Johnathan Amerman, Braden Amerman, Drew Amerman; great-grandchildren, Kai Buckminster, Riley Baumann, Brayson Amerman; and brother, Arnold “Butch” Smith, of Tampa, Fla.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 24, 2021, at Logan Funeral Home Pavilion.
Officiating will be the North Georgia Honor Guard.
Interment will be at the Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va.
In lieu flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America.
