Hugh Michael Weaver

Mr. Hugh Michael Weaver, 67, of Ellijay, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2022, with his family by his side.

He was born June 8, 1955, in Gilmer County, to the late Crate and Lexie Weaver. He was a carpenter by trade, building many homes in and around Gilmer County. He was a man of strong faith and a proud dad and grandpa, who enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a beloved father and grandfather and brother, and he will be forever missed.

He is preceded in death by brothers, Herbert Weaver and Hollis Weaver; and a sister, Cathy Hyatt.

He is survived by son, Joshua Weaver; daughter and son-in-law, Kassie and Adam Fowler; grandchildren, Hailey Weaver, Kaden Fowler and Tallen Weaver; sisters, Joyce Williams, Doris Rutledge, Dorothy Weaver and Judy Wright; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, 2022, from the Bernhardt Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Kelly Smith officiating.

Interment was in the Tickanetly Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Aaron Weaver, Matthew Weaver, Michael Hyatt, Zachary Wright, Joe Williams and Scott Weaver. Honorary Pallbearers include Adam Fowler, Doug Hyatt, Jacob Wright, Nick Rutledge, Jason Weaver and Tommy Williams.

Bernhardt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
