Mr. Henry “Hank” Arthur Forbes Jr., 83, of Ellijay, died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021, at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper.
He was born in Natchez, Miss., and grew up in Texarkana, Texas. He was born Sept. 23, 1937, to the late Henry Arthur Forbes Sr. and Flora Mary McGehee Forbes.
He is preceded in death by brother, Stephen Duncan.
He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force as a radar operator during the Korean War. He spent most of his working years as a tool and die maker.
He is survived by daughters, Patricia (Howard) Smith, of Athens, Katherine (Mike) Cobb, Angela (David) Totherow, all of Ellijay, and Jennifer (Jim) Cannon, of Abbeville; their mother, Galen Forbes; six grandchildren, Ethan, Rachael, Bryson, Leah, Christopher and Clareine; and special friend, Jean Mulkey.
The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, 2021, at the funeral home.
