Mr. Everett Roy Ringstrom, 77, of Ellijay, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021, surrounded by his family.
He was born Oct. 3, 1943, in Chicago, Ill., to William and Doris Eychaner Ringstrom.
He married Mary Ann Watkins-Noonan Aug. 29, 1998, in Marietta.
In his teen years, he had a newspaper route and sold Good Humor Ice Cream on a bicycle cart. He later was the proud owner of a retail news-candy concession stands.
He lived in Chicago, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Georgia. He drove a truck several years before becoming the manager of his own Hostess store before retirement. He enjoyed traveling throughout the United States to train museums and Amish villages. One of his most enjoyable vacations was to the Hawaiian Islands with his wife Mary. In his years, he enjoyed visits from his out-of-state family, going out to eat and sitting in his chair watching old western shows.
He is preceded in death by parents, William and Doris Ringstrom; and sister, Loretta Irene Murphy.
He is survived by wife, Mary; children, Jeffery Roy (Cindy) Ringstrom, of Ellijay, and Donna May Ringstrom, of Gainesville, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; brothers Harold William (Margaret) Ringstrom, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Bruce Eugene Ringstrom, of Cadillac, Mich.; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021, from the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Dan Rosser officiating.
Music was by Doug Lee and Karen Buchanan.
