Mr. Edward Wesley McKibbin, 84, passed Thursday, April 2, 2020, at his residence peacefully with his loving and devoted wife by his side.
He was born June 15, 1935, to the late Charles Hartzell and Grace Ruth (Wilson) McKibbin in Riceville, Iowa. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Ellijay and served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
He graduated from Riceville High School, class of 1953 and graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Upper Iowa University in 1961. He retired from the U.S. government working in personnel management. He retired again after volunteering for 20 years at Faith, Hope and Charity.
He was an avid golfer and fisherman, and positive influence to many.
He is preceded in death by brothers, William John McKibbin and Charles Rodney McKibbin.
He is survived by wife of 35 years, Rosalind McKibbin; daughters and sons-in-law, Laurel and John McGuire, of Jasper, Jill and Charles Franklin, of Brunswick; sons and daughter-in-law, Douglas Charles McKibbin, of Cumming, Thomas Wesley McKibbin, of Tucker, John and Sarah Bullington, of Marietta; grandchildren, Jackson McKibbin, Joshua Shumate, Jacob Shumate, Madison McGuire, Lauren McGuire, John McGuire, Charlotte Bullington, Mae Bullington, Thomas Bullington, Ashley Franklin and Robert Franklin.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2020, from the Logan Funeral Home and Chapel with Dr. Thom Shores and the Rev. Alan Tarr officiating.
