Mr. Ed Lonzo Smith Jr., 52, of Talking Rock, died Thursday, July 29, 2021, at Piedmont Mountainside in Jasper.
He was born in Cherokee County Oct. 2, 1968, to the late Ed Lonzo Smith Sr. and Thelma Lorene McArthur Smith. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator with N.J Wilbanks Co.
He is survived by life partner, Martha Smith; sons, Lonnie Smith, Chauncy Smith and Billy Mewborn (Kathy); daughters, Tiffany Smith, Brittany Mejia (Oscar) and Tonya Teague; brother, Alex McArthur; sisters, Darlene Holtzclaw (Eddie), Betty Blankinship (Kiley) and Bobbie Gail Fouts (Everett); 17 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; his precious pet pig, Annie, who he loved very much; and special nephew, Willie Holtzclaw.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 1, 2021, at Harvest Missionary Church with the Rev. Glen Arnold officiating.
Interment was in Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Cemetery.
Bernhardt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
