Dr. Glendell Lee Snider

Dr. Glendell Lee Snider, 84, of Ellijay, died Sunday, Aug. 2, 2020.

He was born Jan. 20, 1936, in Dexter, Mo., to the late John T. and Emma Lee Clifft Snider. He was a graduate of Dexter High School, and University of Missouri in Columbia as a veterinarian. He also served in the U.S. Navy and retired from the USDA. 

He was a member of Covenant Community Church and was the last of 13 siblings.

He is survived by wife of 60 years, Helen Bishop Snider; son and daughter-in-law, Samuel Lee and Karla Snider, of Ellijay; daughters, Fawn Lowery, of Stone Mountain and Dr. Dawn Ranae Hicks-Kiser, of Jasper; five grandchildren, Joshua Snider, Dr. David Snider, Joseph Lowery, Heather Lowery and  Robert Hicks; and three great-grandchildren, Luke Snider, Bonnie Snider and William Snider.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 8, 2020, from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Fields officiating. 

Music will be by Krystie Daves and Kerrie Touchstone. 

Pallbearers will be Joshua Snider, Dr. David Snider, Ben Snider, Heather Lowery, Joseph Lowery and Dr. David Henson. 

Honorary pallbearer will be W.T. Yarbrough. 

Flowers are accepted or donations can be made to Christian Learning Center or the Humane Society, in memory of Dr. Snider. 

The family will meet with friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
