Charles Ernest Young

Mr. Charles Earnest Young, 89 of Morganton, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022.

He was born on Sept. 19, 1932 to the late Herman and Lucile Eva (Atkins) Young.

He was a graduate of Gilmer High School and was employed by Young’s TV Repair. He was a member and deacon at Rock Creek Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by wife, Venalee Green Young.

He is survived by daughter, Sherry and Bryan Wright, of Morganton; son, Joey and Bernice Young, of Blue Ridge; grandchildren, Kaytie and Shane Dilbeck, Austin Wright, Dillon and Destiny Wright; great-grandchildren, Barrett Dilbeck, Emmaline Dilbeck, Mackenzie Ashmore and  Allison Wright; brother, Jerry and Pat Young, of Sweetwater, Texas; sisters, Selma Helton, of Cherry Log, Trudy Page-Leflore, of Jasper; sister-in-law, Joyce Young, of Ellijay; special friends, Jennings Young, Barrett Dilbeck, Bud and Robin Kirby, all of Morganton; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2022, at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, 2022, at Rock Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Tony Gilbert officiating.

Interment will be in the Rock Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dillon Wright, Austin Wright, Micah Gilbert, Samuel Gilbert, Brian Roper and Mark Hice.
