Charles Edward Carr Jr.

Mr. Charles Edward Carr Jr., 69, of Ellijay, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020, at Emory St. Joseph Hospital in Atlanta.

He was born June 1, 1950, in Mendenhall, Miss., to the late Charles Edward and Helen (Wilson) Carr Sr. 

He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Jackson State University. 

A private memorial service was held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020, at Logan Funeral Home & Chapel with the Rev. Larry Ham officiating.

He is survived by wife, Barbara Ellen Hurd Carr; daughter, Christina Lynn Carr, of Port St. Joe, Fla.; sons, Daran Brown Nottingham and Ricky Nottingham, both of Kingsport, Tenn.; grandchildren, Tyler Brown Nottingham; great-grandchildren, Knox Brown Nottingham; sisters, Diane Ertel, of Ellijay; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy (Larry) Mann, of Cumming; and sister, Karen Hanson, of Covington.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Legion, Ellijay, in memory of Mr. Carr.
