Charles Allen Swinamer

Mr. Charles Allen Swinamer, 56, of Ellijay, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022, at Northside Cherokee Hospital.

He was born Nov. 26, 1965, to the late Charles Allen Swinamer and Patricia Bettencourt Swinamer.

He was one of the greatest mechanics in north Georgia and truthfully could fix anything, no matter what it was.

For those who were lucky enough to call him friend, he was always willing to lend a hand and his expertise.

He was a friend to many, as well as a father figure to his son’s friends and his co-workers.

He was a member of Good Samaritan Catholic Church where he will be remembered for his kind heart and his biscuits and gravy.

He is survived by son, Austin Charles Swinamer (Kate); mother, Patricia Swinamer; brother, Joseph Swinamer; and sister, Cheryl Swinamer.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 25, 2022, at Good Samaritan Catholic Church with the Rev. Carlos Vargas officiating.

Interment was in the Yukon Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ritchie Boysen, Tom McGill, Mike Dyer, Roy Kelley, Don Moss and Leonard Prevatte.

Donations can be made to the Gilmer County FFA program.

Bernhardt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
