Brenda L. Hughes Baker

Mrs. Brenda L. Hughes Baker, 82, of Ellijay, died Thursday, Sept. 15, 2022.

She was born March 10, 1940, in Copperhill, Tenn., to the late Charles and Eunice Parm Hughes. She was a member of New Vision Pentecostal Church.

She is preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by sons, Johnny (Diane) Baker and Tony Baker, both of Ellijay; daughter, Diane Defoor Baker, of New York; brothers, John Hughes, of Tunnel Hill, Gene (Lula Belle) Hughes, of Ellijay and James Hughes, of Ringgold; sister, Celia West, of Fairmount; grandchildren, Chauncey Defoor, Kevin Hughes, Stacey Lambert, Travis Hughes and Eric Baker; and several great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2022, from Mt. Zion Baptist Church cemetery with the Rev. Glen Arnold officiating.

Music was by Ronald and Linda Hyde.

Bernhardt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
