Bonnie Faye Parks

Mrs. Bonnie Faye Parks, 91, of Dalton, died Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at the Chestnut Ridge Nursing and Rehab Center in Cumming.

She was born July 20, 1931, in Gilmer County, to the late Philip Mealer and Lola Turner Mealer. She worked at Shaw Textile Mill and was a member of the Burnt Mountain Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by husband, Billy Parks; son, the Rev. Richard Glenn Parks; sisters, Mae Reece, Esther Holbert, Winnie Fowler, Ila Woody and Bessie Mealer, and four brothers, Robert Mealer, Glenn Mealer, Roy Mealer and Clarence Mealer.

She is survived by son, Rodney Parks, of Ellijay; daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy (Billy) Brooks, of Crandall, Connie (Ron)  Nicholson, of Ponte Verda, Fla., and Cindy (Scott) Piotrowski, of Nicholson; daughter-in-law, Carol Parks, of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren ; three great-great-grandchildren; and dog, Spot.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 31, 2022, from Burnt Mountain Baptist Church with the Rev. Matthew Parks officiating.

Interment was in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Matthew Parks, Michael Brooks, George Parks, Bill Jurgens, Chris Autry, Robert Woody, Larry Page and Ryan Friedman.

Honorary pallbearer was Billy Brooks.

Bernhardt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
