Bobby Leon O’Dell

Mr. Bobby Leon O’Dell, 85, of Ellijay, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022.

He was born May 10, 1936, in Murphy, N.C., to the late Howard and Stella (Mills) O’Dell.

He was a graduate of Murphy High School and graduated from Roffler Mohler Barber School.

He was a barber and owned his own business for many years. He was a member of Cartecay Baptist Church.

He is survived by sons, Doug O’Dell, of Talking Rock, Derrick O’Dell, of Ellijay; grandchildren, Amanda and Matt Davison, Michael O’Dell, Nicole and Adam Helms, Tara and Chris Ellison, Beau and Emily O’Dell; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Geraldine Lockaby, of Charleston, S.C., Joann Segers, of St. Simons, Joyce Stewart, of Kennesaw, Wanda Benefield, of Marietta, Carolyn Swinford, of Rome, Judy Wilson, of Canton, and Reba Burger, of Marietta; brothers, Harold O’Dell, of Ellijay, and Max O’Dell, of Murphy, N.C.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 23, 2022, at Logan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tom Smiley officiating.

Interment was in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.
