Mr. Bobby J. Kendrick, 77, of Ellijay, died Thursday, Sept. 17, 2020.

He was born May 18, 1943, in Conasaga, Tenn., to the late John D. and Leomie Brooks Kendrick. 

He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force, retired from Lockheed, where he worked as a
mechanic, and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. 

He is preceded in death by siblings, J.D. Kendrick and Brenda Dupree.

He is survived by wife, Carrie Jo Kendrick; son, Robbie South, of Temple; daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Michael George, of Morganton; brothers, Jackie Kendrick, of Raleigh, N.C., Jimmy Kendrick, and Timmy and Margie Kendrick, of Ellijay; grandchildren, Toma and Nathan South, Brooke Curtis, Autumn and Jesus Sanchez; great-grandchildren, Kadence and Lukas Allen, Dawson Hawkins, Maya Bella Sanchez; mother-in-law, Hassie Holder, of Temple; brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-law, Larry and Brenda Radcliff, of Bremen, Larry and Ruth Holder, of Draketown, Margie and Ronald Gerstman, of Temple; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, 2020, from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with the Rev. Dan Rosser officiating.  

Music was by the Pleasant Grove Men’s Quartet. 

Pallbearers  were Loy Jarrett, Dennis Vinson, Eddie Thomas, Ken Sanford, Doug Lee and Carl Eckelberry.  

Interment was in the Yukon Cemetery with military honors by the U.S. Air Force.
