Bertha Eunice Fowler Gentry

Ms. Bertha Eunice Fowler Gentry, 91, of Ellijay, passed away peacefully Friday, Nov. 25, 2022, at Parkside Nursing Home.

She was born Feb. 13, 1931, in Ellijay, to the late Floyd Wilburn Fowler and Decie Garland Fowler.

She was born and raised in Gilmer County and was employed for various periods of time with the hosiery mill and Hampton Mills.

She enjoyed visiting with her family, canning, quilting, gardening and crochet.

She is preceded in death by husband, John Henry Gentry; sisters, Eva Gibson, Geneva Dernus, Beulah Newman Welch and Pauline Cochran; and grandson, Craig Gentry.

She is survived by children, John H. (Alice Williams) Gentry Jr., Kathy (Joseph) Jones, Timothy (Adela) Gentry, and Kendall Gentry; grandchildren, Ivy Hubler, Justin Jones, Mike Jones, Tim Gentry and Donald Gentry; great-grandchildren, Abby Kay Gentry, Stephanie Puckett, Jacob Jones,Belle Jones, Eli Hubler and Mallory Hubler;  nieces and nephews, Kay Dermakowski, Shiela Gibson, Steve Newman, Brenda Newman Eisenhardt, Judy Buczko, Janet Gloeggler, Bob Dernus and Gary Dernus.

A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 2022, from the East Ellijay Baptist Church Cemetery.
