Mr. Bernard Joseph Carr, 76, of Blue Ridge, died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021. He was born in Pennsauken, N.J., March 23, 1944, to the late Bernard Carr Sr. and Edna Kelley Carr.
He is preceded in death by stepdaughter, Laurie Ollek.
He was a high school graduate and was retired from the U.S. Post Office. He enjoyed playing Santa Claus in stores and for family functions. He was a member of Good Samaritan Catholic Church.
He is survived by wife, Virginia H. Carr, of Blue Ridge; children, Lisa Root and husband, Ted, of Ellijay, Robert Schofield and wife, Shannon, of Florida, Rhonda Stinette, of Palm Bay, Fla., Tracy Polywacz and husband, Collins, of Gilbertsville, Pa.; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
To honor his wishes, he was cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
