Mr. Bennie Emmett Burgess, 67, of Ellijay, passed away on Monday May 3, 2021, at Erlanger Hospital.
Mr. Burgess was born in Murray County on December 13, 1953 to the late Emuel Burgess and Jerri Sanford Burgess. He was a high school graduate and was a member of Ellijay First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Kelley Reece Burgess; son, Daniel Hyatt (Crystal); two daughters, Brooke Berry (Chris), and Sarah West (Brady); brother, Mitchell Gaston; sister, Pam Elrod; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Bro. Mitchell Gaston officiating.
Interment was in Yukon Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ian Berry, Marc Reece, Johnny West, Tommy Crowder, Bobby Thompson and Gary Woodring. Honorary pallbearers were James Lightsey and Senior Spring Lake members.
Bernhardt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
