Mr. Alvin Douglas Boger, 86, of Ellijay, died Sunday, June 27, 2021, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 17, 1935, in Fulton County, to the late Alvin ‘’Pop’’ Boger and Gladys Boger.
He served his country and retired from the United States Navy after 20 years of service. He retired from Xerox corporation and was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
He is survived by wife, Ruby Boger; children, Christine Ash Shelton (Alvin), Alvin Douglas Boger Jr. (Trina); stepdaughter, Vickie Birch (Bobby); sisters, Eunice Davis, Shirley Jackson (David); Grandchildren, Ashley Ash (Justin) Tre Ash (Lauren), Alvin”D.J.” Douglas Boger III, Reagan Sheffield (Hogan), Robbie Birch; four great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephew.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday June 30, 2021, from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Walls officiating.
Interment will be in the Yukon Cemetery with Military honors by the United States Navy.
Pallbearers will be Robbie Birch, Bobby Birch, Tre Ash, Alvin Shelton, Justin Turner and David McKee.
The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, at the funeral home.
