Alfred Lee Pierce

Mr. Alfred Lee Pierce, 98, of Ellijay, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2022, at the Oaks in Ellijay.

He was born Jan. 15, 1924, to the late Guy W. Pierce and Cora Silver Pierce.

He is preceded in death by wife, Melenese Davis; son, Larry Pierce; grandson, Jason Pierce; brothers, Otto Pierce, Frank Pierce, Clyde Pierce, Sam Pierce, Wilbert Pierce and Gene Pierce; sisters, Mary Nell Troglin and Estelle Southerland.

He was a veteran of the United States Army, who served during World War II and was retired from Schneider Electric Company.

He is survived by sons, Ricky Pierce and Calvin Pierce, of Ellijay; brothers, Wallace Pierce and Waldo Pierce, of Ellijay; sister, Helen Greer, of Ellijay; grandson, Josh Pierce, of Ellijay; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 23, 2022, in the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Rickey Jarrett officiating.

Bernhardt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
